Human Trafficking 101 is an introductory course designed to provide foundational knowledge about the global and domestic realities of human trafficking. Participants will learn to identify the different forms of trafficking, including sex trafficking and labor trafficking, and understand the tactics used by traffickers to exploit victims. The course explores key indicators, risk factors, victim profiles, and the legal frameworks surrounding trafficking, including the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA). Special emphasis is placed on victim-centered and trauma-informed approaches to identification, intervention, and reporting. By the end of the course, learners will be better equipped to recognize signs of trafficking, respond appropriately, and contribute to prevention and awareness efforts in their communities or professional fields.
